December 8, 2017

THANK YOU!!!

A big thank you to Mr. Ryan Harrell of Gemini Cabinet, Inc. for donating $500 to our school library!  Blue Oaks will be able to purchase many new and exciting titles with this contribution, as well as replace some older books that have seen better days.  We can't thank Mr. Harrell enough for this incredibly generous donation!

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 1592 for their generous donation of $500! These funds will help cover the cost to send six of our teachers to a conference this summer in San Diego, CA.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Hello Parents!
The Toys for Tots Donation ends on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15th! Please bring in new, unwrapped toys of any kind- all toys, crafts, games, etc. are accepted no matter how small or big!
Toys for Tots is a US Marine Corps program organized to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in our community. There will be collection boxes in the Office all week through December 15th.
Thank you for all of your support!

GATE IDENTIFICATION

The 2018-2019 school year GATE identification test will be administered at the District Office for students currently in 2nd – 7th  grade.  The students will take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, OLSAT, that tests abstract thinking and reasoning ability.  Students must attend one of the testing dates on the OLSAT Parent Permission Form in order to complete the testing by the district.  The Parent Permission Forms will be made available on November 13, 2017 on our district website @ www.rcsdk8.org under the “Parent” tab.  All forms must be returned to the District Office by January 5, 2018 if you would like your student tested. There are no exceptions as materials are ordered based on the number of returned forms.  Make sure you check the district website under the “Parents” tab for more information regarding GATE services and testing.

Forms may also be turned into the Blue Oaks school office, but must be received no later than Wednesday, December 20th.
