GIRLS ON THE RUN - WHAT WE DO!

At Girls on the Run, a 501c3 non-profit, we inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained volunteer coaches use our research-based curricula to teach foundational lessons through dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the 10-week program, girls in 3rd-5th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. Our progra culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being [physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k event.

Registration for the 2018 season of Girls on the Run is still available via the website, www.gotrsac.org, but is filling up fast and space is limited to 20 participants, so don't delay! Financial assistance is available.

ORCHESTRA VISITS BLUE OAKS

On January 12th, Blue Oaks had a special visit from the Auburn Symphony. Students were introduced to the various components of symphonic music (compared all the instruments' contributions to that of all the yummy parts of a pizza).

The kids also heard from a very young violinist who proved that with lots of practice you can learn anything you set your mind to.  Check out a video of one of her previous performance! I think we were all a little awestruck!

Interested in attending Auburn Symphony's Annual Family Concert on Saturday, February 3rd at Placer High School? A limited number of tickets are available free of charge in the office. We only have a few left so stop by and get yours before they're all gone!
