GIRLS ON THE RUN - WHY IT MATTERS!

Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that during adolescence, girls' confidence drops about twice as much as boys', friendships become more complicated and challenging, girls' perceptions of their academic success declines, their risk for anxiety and depression goes up and their participation in physical activity plummets.

Registration for the 2018 season of Girls on the Run is still available via the website, www.gotrsac.org, but is filling up fast and space is limited to 20 participants, so don't delay! Financial assistance is available.
Practice days will be Wednesdays & Fridays from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm at Blue Oaks and begins on Wednesday, February 14th!!

Blue Oaks GOTR Coaches are:
Rachel Madamba, Mandy Murphy & Susan Wells

BEAR STAMPEDE SUCCESS

Thank you, Blue Oaks families, for your incredible efforts to make our Bear Stampede fundraiser a success!

Today's Bear Stampede Glow Run was a blast! Great job to our students for getting all those laps in. And much appreciation to our fabulous volunteers for making this special event happen.

At this time we have raised over $25,000 in pledges! In an effort to meet our goal of $27,000, we will keep the pledging window open for the weekend. Students are looking forward to this last opportunity to raise funds for our school AND earn prizes. Visit funrun.com for this last chance.
